The Central Instruments Facility (CIF) of NISA provides facilities of sophisticated analytical instruments to scientists and other users from academic institutes, R&D laboratories and industries. It also runs training programmes and workshops in technical skill development for the benefit of students, scientific community and associated laboratory staff from different institutions. Besides the facilities available in the common instrumentation laboratory, the SAIF also extend services with analytical equipment maintained at the various divisions of the institute. The facilities of this SAIF go a long way in improving the quality of research being carried out in the NISA as well as other institutes.

The following Central Instruments are available at Common Instrumentation Laboratory/ under the supervision of different divisions

GC-MS, FT-IR, CHNS Analyzer, Freeze Dryer, Particle Size Analyzer, Muffle furnace with gas purging facility, Brookfield Viscometer, Sonicator, rotary evaporators ,UV – Visible Spectrophotometer, ASTM Flow Apparatus, Melting Point Apparatus SMP-3, Multi-Unit Extraction Heater, Lovibond Comparator, PCR, Gel Documentation System, Ultracentrifuge Nanodrop Spectrophotometer, Ultrasonicator (Probe type), UV – Visible Spectrophotometer, Spray Dryer, Vacuum packaging machine, Texture Analyzer, Hunter Colorimeter, Automatic solvent / fat extraction system
