Introduction

       Conservation aspects
Due to push towards greater affection of natural materials
for achieving environment friendly approaches and better
quality of life and, the demand for NRGs would become
several-fold. Hence ensuring adequate supply of desired
quality at reasonable cost to the industry would have to
be addressed through scientific tapping and production
techniques without exploiting the source trees.
       Format discussion
The book is the exceptional effort to bring information
regarding these NRGs producing species, their gum/resin
products and uses at one place. It also covers different
vernacular names of the particular plant in various regional
languages, all compiled from scattered literature. The book
also covers valuable information regarding distribution,
morphological description, flowering, fruiting season, Exhaustive tapping of Karaya tree
propagation, brief properties of gum/resin products, etc.
