Infrastructure |

The
Division has scientists from the disciplines of Agriculture
Entomology, Agriculture Biotechnology, Genetics and Plant Breeding,
Plant Physiology and Plant Biochemistry. It houses well equipped
laboratories of Biotechnology, Physiology and Systematic Entomology.
The division houses the project coordinating unit of Network Project
on Conservation of Lac Insect Genetic Resources which is
coordinating and networking research activities pertaining to
conservation of lac insect genetic resources at twelve centers
including lead center at ICAR-IINRG, Ranchi. |

breed- Semialata combination for kusmi lac production
- Late kusmi breed- Ziziphus mauritiana (ber) combination for kusmi
lac production
- Lac cultivation on Cajanus cajan (arhar)
- Development of high density plantation of ber for lac cultivation
- Kusmi lac production technology on Prosopis juliflora during
winter crop season
- Summer season (jethwi) sticklac production on ber trees with the
help of pitcher irrigation
- Moisture conservation through organic mulching for establishment
of ber plantation under rainfed condition
- Lac- host plant suitability index
- Early detection of key parasitoids in field collected lac insects
using molecular approach
- Development of rhizobial bio-fertilizer for Flemingia macrophylla
- Primary culture of lac insect cells Weather based prediction model for abundance of key parasitoid of lac insect Aprostocetus purpureus
